Conduct that is not allowed on FindCaptains.

FindCaptains is a discovery, evaluation, and connection platform. It helps customers Discover Captains, evaluate public profiles, and Connect through Contact Requests. FindCaptains is not the Captain, a vessel operator, an employer, a charter operator, or automatically a party to later arrangements between a customer and a Captain.

These rules apply to Captains, customers, and anyone else using FindCaptains. They work together with the Terms of Use. Ordinary viewing of public pages is allowed.

Identity and credentials

Do not create fake profiles or impersonate another person, Captain, or business.
Do not publish a materially false identity, history, affiliation, or qualification.
Do not submit fraudulent, fabricated, or altered credentials, licenses, or certifications.
Do not knowingly mislead customers about your authorization or qualifications.

Accounts and evasion

Do not create deceptive duplicate accounts.
Do not evade a ban, suspension, or other moderation action.
Do not coordinate account abuse across multiple identities.

Contact, spam, and harassment

Do not send spam, bulk, repetitive, or unrelated solicitation through Contact Requests.
Do not harass, threaten, or send abusive communications.
Do not submit fake inquiries.

Scraping, bots, and access controls

Do not scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract FindCaptains data without authorization.
Do not use automated account creation, Contact spam, or bots that degrade or circumvent the service.
Do not bypass rate limits or other access controls.

These rules do not mean FindCaptains technically prevents all scraping or bots. Public pages may still be viewed in an ordinary browser.

Security abuse

Do not exploit vulnerabilities without authorization.
Do not bypass authentication or authorization, or access another user’s private data or inquiries.
Do not upload malware or other malicious files.
Do not interfere with the service, attempt denial of service, or circumvent security controls.

Illegal, deceptive, or infringing content

Do not use FindCaptains for fraud, illegal content, or infringement.
Do not post deceptive or malicious links.
Do not knowingly advertise unlawful marine services or materially misrepresent authorization to perform a service.

Platform manipulation

Do not manipulate ranking, analytics, or engagement.
Do not create artificial engagement or coordinate platform manipulation.

Enforcement

FindCaptains may remove content, restrict features, reject publication, suspend or remove accounts, investigate, and preserve or report information where legally required. Enforcement is not promised in a rigid sequence.

Reporting

Report abuse, policy concerns, or suspected security issues through the FindCaptains Contact page. Good-faith vulnerability reports are welcome. Do not use this page to discourage responsible reporting of security issues.
